Because the humidity/temperature reading should be allowed to calibrate before taking the measurement. Usually, it will take 20 to 40 minutes to reach the current temperatures and humidity in a new environment – the larger the humidity/temperature difference between the sensor and the current environment, the longer the calibration time required. For example, the humidity/temperature meter has been left to calibrate in current environment after 30 minutes, in conditions of 60%RH (relative humidity), 68°F/20°C (temperature), we think it is normal if the humidity reading is between 55%RH and 65%RH and the temperature reading is between 66.5°F/19°C and 69.5°F/21°C. Because the temperature/humidity tolerance is ± 1.5°F/± 1°C & ±5% RH. PLEASE NOTE The best way to test the accuracy of this product is to place the main unit and the outdoor unit together and allow plenty of time for them to calibrate. If the temperature/humidity tolerance is ± 1.5°F/± 1°C & ±5% RH, we think it is accurate. Please do not compare the temperature and humidity readings with other thermometers/hygrometers, because the accuracy of the sensors is different, the temperature/humidity tolerance may be larger than ± 1.5°F/± 1°C & ±5% RH
